I recently received an email from the team at Best British Bloggers telling me that MoneySupermarket were running a competition to win £1000 to put towards your Spring/Summer wardrobe. All you had to do was create three separate looks inspired by this year’s styles and trends and each look could cost no more than £200.
With the wedding taking all my spare money at the moment I thought this would be a fun chance to do some pretend shopping and maybe if I’m lucky I might win an updated wardrobe in the process – fingers crossed!
Those of you who know me will know two of my main loves are nudes and stripes, so this look was kinda a no-brainer. Stripes are huge this season and the bright orange was a great change from my usual navy breton tops and a nice nod to the neon colours that were seen during LFW. I’ve kept the rest of the look fairly neutral with nude accessories and thrown in a navy blazer as we all know we can’t trust the British weather to bring the sunshine! I’d pair this with a white eyed look as seen on the catwalk of Ermanno Scervino.
Speaking of sunshine it’s only 4 month until we jet off to sunny St Lucia. This definitely played a part in my decision making when pulling together my holiday wear outfit. I went for a neon tribal look that’ll easily take you from beach to bar whilst leaving you with tons of space in your suitcase for duty free, seashells or anything else that takes your fancy. This would be paired with barely there make-up and a fishtail plait.
For my party look I’ve opted for a 1920’s look with a splash of metallic gold. Not only is this totally on-trend for SS13 but it’ll also easily translate to a pretty awesome look come AW13 too, just whack on some thick tights and heels and you’re ready to go. I’d pair this with a smokey eye and a light curl in my hair.
You can view the complete looks over on Polyvore.
If you fancy entering the #PassionForFashion2 competition you can find all the details here, but be quick as all entries must be in by April 8th.
