I’ve decided to break this down into two parts as I had no idea how many nail polishes I’d bought until I came to re-pack my suitcase for the trip home. Mike’s face was a picture when he saw me unpack them all!
So anyway, here’s my make up haul from CVS and Walgreens. I was somewhat uninspired by the make up on offer this time round (aside from the nail polish obvs!) so this is a fairly tame haul by most standards.
The first products I grabbed were the Revlon Brow Fantasy double-ended pencil and gel in 108 which is Light Brown and the Covergirl Clump Crusher mascara in Black. I have the fairest brows I’ve ever seen and have taken to lightly shading them to make them a bit more visible. Before I headed to San Francisco I spotted this in another haul post and just knew I had to try it. The Covergirl Clump Crusher on the other hand is an example of how easily influenced I am by advertising when I’m jet-lagged as after watching several hours of mindless TV in the middle of the night I vowed I had to try this. I’ll review them both fully once I’ve had a chance to use them a bit more.
You can’t really go to the states and not buy some teeth whitening strips. I opted for the Crest 3D White Whitestrips in Gentle Routine as I was too scared to try anything any stronger after all the horror stories I’ve read online. Mike and I have been using a strip each for our top teeth to make them last longer and so far there has been a noticeable yet subtle change in whiteness. Next time I’ll probably opt for the Crest 3D White Advanced Seal Whitestrips as they seem to make a more dramatic difference.
I bought the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush mainly out of curiosity as to what makes them “bouncy”. They have a weird sponge-like texture which feels pretty appealing though you have to be careful not to press too hard. Again full reviews will be coming once I’ve had more time to play with them.
To help in my quest to have whiter teeth by the wedding I also grabbed a couple of packs of Trident White, known to help remove stains and whiten teeth. Though having read their website which recommends having two pieces of gum four times a day to see significant whitening I have a feeling this is more of a gimmick than an actual tooth whitener. I’m yet to try them but will let you know how I get on.
