Behind an unassuming red door off the cobbled high street lives my sanctuary. A place where no matter how hellish my week has been I can sit back for an hour or so and literally feel the stresses and strains melt away. The place I talk of is On Cloud Nine, a luxurious beauty and massage retreat in the heart of Godalming.
I first went to On Cloud Nine after Mike bought me a Groupon voucher for my birthday last year. As soon as I walked through the door I felt totally at ease. Unlike some of the spas I’ve been to the staff were all super friendly and the reception felt more like I was chilling at a friends house than waiting for an appointment. The owner Ronnie greeted me like an old friend and we nattered away as she tackled my knots. An hour later every ounce of tension had been eased from my body and I left with a renewed spring in my step.
Today was their 1st Birthday and Ronnie kindly invited me down to celebrate their big day and take a few photos, of course I couldn’t pop in without indulging in a few treatments as well.
I opted for the Hopi Ear Candling Treatment and a Facial. I’ve been intrigued by the idea of Hopi Ear Candling for a while but didn’t fancy my chances in one of those pop up chinese therapy shops so have always held off. When I spotted that On Cloud Nine offered the treatment I thought it was the ideal time to give it a go.
Hopi Ear Candling is an ancient therapy that involves Hopi candles being inserted into the ear to draw out impurities. I wasn’t totally sure what to expect, all I was sure of was that I’d be staying very, very still so as not to burn myself. I needn’t have worried though as Ronnie kept the candle in place whilst giving me a Reiki head treatment. I assumed it would sound a bit like having your ears syringed but found it actually sounded more like gentle rain falling on a roof or window which lulled me into a rather relaxed state. Ronnie invited me to see what the candles had extracted, and being the kinda girl that likes looking at what my pore strip has pulled out I couldn’t resist! I would have taken a photo but I was a bit too grossed out by just how much wax the candles had pulled out and didn’t want to inflict that on my dear readers.
Yesterday I woke up to a mount vesuvius sized spot so was very glad I’d booked a facial for the weekend. Being the naughty scamp I am I hadn’t been able to resist picking at it and it was left looking rather angry and red this morning. As I sit here typing both the swelling and the redness have gone and whilst it’s still visible it’s definitely not as obvious as it had been. It’s safe to say this was the best facial I’ve ever had and left my skin literally glowing! Even Mike commented on how great my skin looked afterwards.
If you’re in need of relaxation, or just a bit of me time I definitely recommend On Cloud Nine and this month they’re offering 30% off all treatments! If you want to find out more you can find them on Facebook or Twitter.
When you came to me I felt your skin and I can totally confirm that it is baby soft and so clear – totally blemish free, so much so i am looking forward to you checking their home visits out for me so I can have a “me” day too x x
Ooh, thanks for this review! I hadn’t heard of this spa (have you heard of Rare, also in Godalming?) but I’m really intrigued!
This might be a future Mother’s Day present, obviously taking advantage of any 2 for 1 offer that they might have. ;)

Hey Hannah I’m glad you liked the review. I tried Rare once for a facial but have found On Cloud Nine to be a much more personable spa, which I personally prefer.
I’m there again on Thursday for a Green Tea Tummy Cleanse so will ask about possible Mother’s Day offers whilst I’m there :)
