Swatched – Louise Gray for Topshop Up in the Air Blush Duo & Eye Cream Duo in Wave Machine

So I may have had a sneaky second haul in TopshopThis time I picked up the Up in the Air blush duo and the eye cream duo in Wave Machine, both from the Louise Gray for Topshop collection.

I was instantly attracted to the packaging which is really eye-catching with pastel coloured boxes sporting aztec style designs. The casing for the Up in the Air blush duo featured the same pastel colouring and a circular zigzag design in gold. I was really disappointed once I got the Wave Machine eye cream duo out of the box though as instead of the pretty case of the blush duo the eye cream duo came in transparent plastic pots, not dissimilar to the pots I decant products into before a long haul flight.

The Up in the Air blush duo features a bright orange toned cream blush and an equally bright pink cream blush. Whilst these look totally garish in the pan, used sparingly they blend easily to become wearable shades on the skin.

The texture is meltingly soft, which leaves it feeling a tad greasy on the skin at first but once blended the greasiness goes and you’re left with beautiful glowy skin. I’m yet to wear either blush for a full day so can’t comment on wear just yet, but as soon as I know I’ll update this.

I initially bought the Wave Machine eye cream duo as I’ve been after a light lavender lipstick for a while now and thought I could use the purple shade as a lipstick. Having given it a try, I can officially say don’t use this as a lip colour if you’re pale or you’ll end up looking like an extra from Night of the Living Dead – not a good look! All is not lost though as I can see these being really pretty for Spring/Summer make up looks and can’t wait to have a proper play with them.

Both products can still be found in the sale at Topshop.com.

Have you bought any make-up from the Topshop sale?

  1. Their lipsticks are quite good as well! I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and colour of them. Can’t wait until more shades come on sale in the future x
