Ski-centuals – Neutrogena High SPF Sunscreens

Sorry for the radio silence these last few days, I had posts scheduled but real life got in the way and I didn’t get a chance to finish writing them up. Anyway, I’m back now with more suggestions of products you should be packing if you’re heading to the slopes this season or even if you’re just conscious of protecting your skin from sun damage year-round.

Tonight I thought I’d cover off SPF Sunscreens. It’s easy to forget how strong the sun is when you’re surrounded by snow but a high SPF sunscreen is an absolute must if you don’t want to end up looking like this…

I picked up both the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF 100+ Sunscreen and the Clear Face Liquid Lotion SPF 55 whilst I was in LA earlier in the year but wanted to give them a proper trial before blogging about them as I know SPF products can wreak havoc with my skin. Thankfully neither product has aggravated my skin in any way, though it’s important to make sure that you fully cleanse you’re skin after using an SPF sunscreen as they can clog your pores if you don’t wash them off properly.

So what makes these products so great? Well first off they’re totally purse friendly, I think they were around $12 each. I’ve had a quick look online for UK prices and your best bet is Amazon or ebay, where you can pick up the Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF 100+ Sunscreen for £11.75 here and the Clear Face Liquid Lotion SPF 55 Sunscreen for £11.90 here.

Next up I love the fact they don’t have a white cast when applied. As an already pale girl there’s nothing worse than a sunscreen that leaves your skin looking deathly white. I was pleased to see that both products quickly sunk into my skin without a trace and felt super lightweight, in fact they were so lightweight I forgot I even had sunscreen on.

They also protect against both UVA and UVB rays, meaning you can relax safe in the knowledge that your skin is fully protected whether you’re on the slopes, wandering around town or on the beach and their non-greasy formula means they’re perfect for wearing under your make-up, I just make sure I skip moisturiser so my skin isn’t too overloaded with products.

What’s your favourite SPF product?
