Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash Review (and a teeny tiny rant about the W!)

Whilst in LA earlier this year I was lucky enough to stay in the W hotel. Now on the whole I’m not a big fan of the W hotels, more often than not I find myself stepping off the plane and struggling to work out the simplest of things like turning on the shower or switching off the damn light that hovers over the mini bar (true story!). For me the W hotels just over complicates things, but enough about what they do wrong, there’s one thing they do that almost makes up for any prior misdemeanors and that’s stocking my bathroom full of Bliss goodies. In particular the Sink-side six pack which is where my love affair began.

Those of you who fly long-haul on a regular basis will know just how important skincare is if you don’t want to end up with stressed out skin, so arriving to find a proper cleanser with exfoliating properties almost made up for the fact it took me 25 minutes (and a few tears) to work out how to turn the shower on!

As a side note, Ruth of A Model Recommends has recently done a fab video on long-haul skincare that is definitely worth a look for anyone boarding a plane. You can find it here if you’re interested.

Anyway, back on track. Whilst I may not have left my heart in Beverly Hills, I did bring home a new love in the form of the Fabulous Foaming Face Wash from Bliss.

Ta Dah!

Now first off it needs to be said, I have no idea why it is called a foaming face wash as to be honest it just doesn’t foam very much at all! Trust me, I’ve tried a little of the product, a lot of the product, more water, less water, every which way in an attempt to make it foam, but alas, it doesn’t foam for me. But hey, I’m not the kind of girl to get hung up on a name, particularly when 3/4s of it’s name fit the bill!

So let’s take a look at Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash.

Spot the fabulous foaming action in picture 2? Nope, me neither!

Bliss claim this is a 2 in 1 cleanser and exfoliator with rose hips, chamomile and passion flower which contains tiny exfoliating beads to leave your skin soft and cleansed, and whilst it doesn’t pass the Bioderma post wash swipe test it does leave a hell of a lot less make up behind than other cleansers. In short, if god forbid I was without my Bioderma, I would sleep easily having cleansed my skin twice with this.

They also claim that men have been known to steal this product to use as a shaving cream stand-in. I’ve been pestering Mike to try this for a while but given it’s lack of foaming potential he’s yet to take the plunge so I can’t say for certain this wouldn’t work as a shaving cream, although I think it’s safe to say it’s unlikely.

Has your man stolen your Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash? Was it a great substitute to shaving cream? Or have you managed to find the elusive foaming action in the Fabulous Foaming Face Wash? If you have answers to any of these questions I’d love to know!
