It’s not me, it’s you! My short-lived affair with an IT bag

I’m not sure I’m quite at the stage where people visit my blog on a daily basis, but those of you who may have swung by yesterday will remember my excitement at the arrival of my new Zara bag, the Tan Plaited Shopper.

If you missed the post it looks something like this…

Sadly after just 24 hours our relationship is over. We’re just not meant to be.

Where did it all go wrong I hear you ask? Well, where do I begin?

I’m not one to shy away from a larger bag, in fact the beauty of this bag was in i’s size. Though what it makes up in size it lacks in compartments, or any useable storage (unless you’re one of those girls who doesn’t mind everything getting scratched by your keys). Bizarrely Zara decided the best option was to include a removable cotton liner (again with no compartments!) which didn’t even manage to stay attached whilst I was unzipping it to look inside. Once filled, it stood no chance! This was just plain annoying.

The other thing that drew me to the bag was it’s optional shoulder strap, though sadly this suffered the same fate as the liner in the sense that it kept unpoppering itself. This isn’t ideal with any bag, but when the bag in question doesn’t have a means of keeping itself shut it’s beyond an inconvenience. If you dump my prized possessions on the floor, I’m afraid you’ll be dumped no matter how pretty you are!

Finally, after the initial excitement of my bag arriving I realised it had quite a few scuffs and scratches. Now I’m not precious when it comes to my bags (of course any well loved bag will have a few blemishes!) but when the bag in questions has blemishes before i’ve even got it out of the box, well that’s another thing!

So, there you have it. As of tomorrow my bag will be whisked back off to Zara HQ where it will hopefully find a new lover.
